This is an assignment from Conceptual Illustration. It's Meggie, holding her father's copy of Inkheart. I certainly like dark rooms and singular light sources, don't I. Oh well. Ink and Photoshop 7. Inkheart is © Cornelia Funke, of course.

One of my favourite books in my native language. I am so happy knowing something so precious isn't only popular in germany but international.
And this illustration of Meggie is fabulous. I love the blue fairies swirling around her head. They were such cute creatures in the books. Oh I feel like reading them all over again xD

do you know the original (german) covers I think the english covers I've seen do look better than that. But they usually do

Well the german ones have letters all over them and a small picture and the name that's basicly it. So I think the US version has more charme but yours would be one I would love to have in the front row of my bookshelf.
